Charles has been a web developer and web/email server system administrator since 1996. He has built over 100 web sites on several different programming languages (cold fusion, asp, perl, php, javascript) for small local groups to large corporations.
Charles is a worker-owner of GAIA Host Collective, a cooperatively owned and run Internet hosting company with an environmental and social mission. GAIA Host provides a suite of hosting options, based on open source software, including domain registration, shared server web/email hosting, virtual dedicated servers, and managed dedicated servers. From 1996 to 2003, with friends and partners, he owned and operated a web hosting and consulting company in Boston. In 2004 GAIA Host purchased the web hosting systems and customers from that Boston firm.
